The newly-formed Saratoga Corinth and Hudson Railway announced that later this spring you'll be able to enjoy the breathtaking views of the Southern Adirondacks aboard a vintage, 1943 locomotive built in Schenectady.

According to, The Saratoga Corinth and Hudson Railway, the train will take you through over 11 miles of the "southern end of the former Delaware & Hudson Railway Adirondack Branch, between Corinth and Greenfield, N.Y., just north of Saratoga Springs, N.Y."

Making it even more special - the locomotive you'll be riding on is an original, built right here in Schenectady

The train, an Alco 5 is a 660hp S-1 was built by the American Locomotive Company in 1943 in Schenectady making it over 80 years old and this is what it looks like.


Even the railway you'll be traveling on is historic and built for your great-grandparents!

According to, this historic railway was built nearly 160 years ago by the Adirondack Company and Dr. Thomas Durant from Saratoga Springs to North Creek - and the scenery is breathtaking.

Starting this spring, the Saratoga Corinth and Hudson Railway at 9 Railroad Place in Corinth will begin booking private rides for a truly unique experience.  Weddings, engagements, reunions, birthdays, corporate events, anything you want, they'll make it happen.
