Any Horse But a Baffert Horse
I will root for any horse to win Saturday’s Preakness Stakes, as long as they are not trained by Bob Baffert. Baffert has cast a black cloud over Saturday’s race and he doesn’t deserve any positive headlines right now. Maybe that narrative changes, but I can’t bet on a Baffert horse to win the second leg of the Triple Crown, even though he has the two favorites in the field of 10. Baffert has lost all credibility with me, and he’s going to have a hard time winning it back. I will bet on both Chad Brown entries Risk Taking and Crowded Trade and see what happens.
That all being said, there is still a lot of questions about what happened with Medina Spirit and what it all means. There is no one better to explain it all than John Pricci who does show and much more in the above interview. Now, there is also a race on Saturday so Pricci also tells us about 6 horse he believes can win the Preakness. Of course the two favorites are Baffert horses and Pricci thinks they can pull it off. Medina Spirits is the deserving favorite and Concert Tour has brilliance but can he go a mile and 3/16th? Midnight Bourbon is the pick for Pricci to win and liked how he finished the Kentucky Derby. The timing is just right for him. He also likes both Chad Brown horses Crowded Trade and Risk Taking. The last horse he thinks can win is Keepmeinmind, he drew inside and he can just benefit from that and maybe sit there and ride it to victory.
