Maureen White-Schock of Ballston Spa is not only on the front lines at Albany Medical Center dealing with the high stress, high demand job of the health care world during the pandemic, but continues her job when she gets home. While she certainly is grateful to be blessed with a wonderful husband and two children, she assumes the responsibility of caregiver to her mother-in-law, who unfortunately has dementia. Maureen works long hours at the hospital and holds it all together at home and that's why her husband Paul emailed us suggesting that she be considered for September's Hometown Hero.

When we called Maureen and explained the reason for the phone call, she claimed she already knew, as Paul tipped her off. But what she didn't know was what he wrote, and when we told her, she became quite emotional. But much like the way she holds it together at Albany Medical Center, and for her family, she held it together for us on the air. But she was more than gracious while accepting the honors of our Hometown Hero for the month of September.

Congratulations to Maureen White-Schock from Ballston Spa, our Hometown Hero for September of 2020.
