Diaper Duty: NY Troopers Help Woman Deliver a Baby on the Northway
Here is another shining example of "when a New York State Trooper reports for duty, he or she truly never knows what they're going to get!"
And in this case, it appears as though the two noble troopers who handled this pretty unusual situation, apparently reported for "diaper duty" that day.
According to the Facebook page of the New York State Police, Trooper Kyle Parkes and Trooper Stephen Yaw from SP Wilton responded to a call about a woman in her car on the Northway who had gone into labor. According to the Facebook post, the two men helped the unnamed woman deliver a baby girl, and then assisted in getting them to the Glens Falls Hospital where it appears as though both mom and baby girl are doing okay!

There's no word of whether either of the troopers were wearing their body cameras at the time. Even if they were, is that something the family would want as a keepsake? Who knows in this day and age! Either way, "Thank You" Trooper Yaw and Trooper Parkes for your quick thinking, potentially life-altering service to the Capital Region.
