Follow the Pack: PLL Star is Ready to Go
Brad Smith was our guest this morning on the Follow the Pack. He had four points on two goals and two assists yesterday (Sunday, 9/5) to help the Whipsnakes defeat the Waterdogs in the semifinals. He is looking forward to the start of the indoor lacrosse season but first, the PLL championship game is Sunday, 9/19 in Washington DC. Make sure to listen above!
Encouraging performance by the UAlbany football team on Saturday at North Dakota State. Despite a 28-6 loss, the Great Danes proved to me that their defense, especially the defensive line is going to be very good this season. QB Jeff Undercuffler had more good moments then bad, and his receiving chore with Freshman Roy Alexander showcasing his talents is rock solid. And everyone knows Running Back Karl Morfor is still sitting on a big season. Most importantly the Great Danes matched the physicality of a very big and strong NDSU team, which bodes well for the Great Danes in the upcoming CAA schedule.
The Saratoga meet produced another training title for Chad Brown. After getting off to a slow start by his standards, he really started to roll in the second half of the meet. Brown was challenged by Todd Pletcher and Michael Maker, but Brown has a lot of horses in his barns, always a lot of very good 2 year olds, and he’s still the best at winning on the turf. The Saratoga training title is always held in high regards, but it’s especially important to Chad because he’s from Mechanicville. Chad’s dominance in this sport is just beginning.
