NYSP: Upstate Tractor Stolen; Can You Help Identify This Suspect?
After weeks of searching, New York State Police are requesting assistance from the public to nab an Upstate tractor thief. Take a look at the surveillance footage below – if you have any information, you could help a family recover machinery worth more than $12k!
The week of December 21, someone stole a John Deere 790 compact utility tractor from a home in Denmark, New York. Denmark is about 30 minutes away from Watertown in the western Adirondacks.

The suspected robber wasn’t exactly dressed for stealth. They were captured on the property’s security cameras dressed all in light colors with the exception of dark muck boots. They also had an elastic band headlamp over their balaclava.
New York State Police did not release a picture of a getaway vehicle or how the John Deere was removed from the property. No serial number was provided either, which is typically located on a small plaque at the rear of the tractor. Upstate farm supply dealers should be on the lookout for this 790.
John Deere manufactured the 790 series between 2000 and 2007. The model stolen from the Denmark property has a front-end brush hog attachment and no canopy. Similar models sell on the used markets for $12-15k.
Anyone with information on whereabouts of the tractor or thief should call the NYSP Troop D office in Onieda at 315-366-6000. Use case reference number 11204124.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The New York State Police ask for assistance to question this person of interest.
