Festa! Community Tradition Returns to Hopewell For Year 36
UPDATED 5/22/25: Due to the forecast, the Thursday 5/22 Festa hours have been cancelled. Times for Friday 5/23, Saturday 5/24 and Sunday 5/25 remain unchanged.
MDW2K25 is almost upon us. After a seemingly never-ending January/February, and then a quicker March/April/May (in my opinion anyway), an annual tradition is rapidly approaching here in the Hudson Valley.
This 36 year old tradition that just makes it feel like summertime has been a staple over Memorial Day weekend for as long as I can remember, signaling the unofficial start of summer. From fried dough to sausage and peppers, live music, rides, and of course fireworks, the time has come for the Son's of Italy Italian Festival at East Fishkill Rec - or as most people call it, 'The Festa!'
'Festa' Returns to East Fishkill Recreation Grounds Memorial Day Weekend
The annual Italian Festival will return to the East Fishkill Rec, 392 Rt-376, Hopewell Junction NY 12533 for Memorial Day weekend for the 36th year. Dates this year are May 22nd through May 25th (rain has cancelled the Thursday 5/22 date).

With fireworks scheduled on Sunday night, there's plenty to do, see, and snack on during the four-day event, and the entertainment schedule for 2025 has already been released.
Friday May 23rd - The Blend
Saturday May 24th - Hey Baby
Sunday May 25th - Nite Life
The Son's of Italy Italian Festival will be open Friday 6pm to 10pm, and Saturday and Sunday 4pm to 10pm.
As always, there is no entry fee, no charge for parking, and each night's live-band performances are also free.
Son's Of Italy Joe DiMaggio Lodge
Sponsored by the Son's of Italy Joe DiMaggio Lodge #2248 out of Wappingers Falls, which was established back in 1971, this annual fundraiser allows 'the lodge' to help their neighbors through charitable donations, community service donations and scholarships. You can find out about all the other Joe Dimaggio Lodge events, scholarships and opportunities here.
As we quickly approach this year's Italian Festival, get ready for cotton candy, carnival rides, and plenty of happy attendees who are ready to unofficially kick off summertime in the Hudson Valley.
