A horrible thing to think about is what happens if you lose everything? What would you do? It's a scenario that none of us want to have to come to life, but that is exactly what happened to one Capital Region family this past week.

A fire started in their home and now it is gone. Everything has been lost. Thankfully no one was seriously injured as their was only one person home at the time. There was an amazing response from multiple fire departments to make sure that the fire was put out, but at the end the home had to be demolished due to the damage that the fire had done.

Fire Response

From the East Glenville Fire Department's post, "The first arriving units found a well involved house fire with flames through the roof and all occupants out of the building. Firefighters from East Glenville and numerous mutual aid companies worked throughout the afternoon to bring the fire under control."

I would like to shoutout those brave firefighters for doing all that they could. Nothing will be able to replace what the Rossie Family had lost. The community can do their part to help. A GoFundMe has been set up and so far it has over $7,000 so far.

Rhianon Morales has become a good friend of the radio station. She's such a kind person and she lived in that home with her family. She had this posted on her Facebook page.

When you hear someone say: take pictures of everything you own. Catalog your possessions. Get anything that has value insured. You brush it off. You can’t understand the magnitude of their words until everything you’ve ever owned is gone and you can’t get it back.
Now is our time as a community to band together to help this family get back on their feet. While we can't replace all those memories that were lost in the fire, we can help them get back the basic things they need.
The GoFundMe set up by Kristi Aitken says:
We know times are tough for many out there. Any donations are appreciated, even just sharing this to spread the word. Thank you very much!
Let's do what we do best, Capital Region. Let's help our own.
