New York State Fair Temporarily Closed Today Due To Flooding

The 2026 New York State Fair got off to a strong start with huge crowds arriving in the first 7 days. On the 8th day a strong storm arrived and the fairgrounds have been temporarily closed while officials asses flood damage.

As of 12 noon on Wednesday 9/2, gates to the Great New York State Fair are temporarily closed while officials mitigate flood damage on the fairgrounds. At this time, the Wilson Phillips concert at Chevy Court is postponed. Hopefully a new time will be determined shortly.

According to Syracuse.com, attendance to the 2026 fair has been strong with nearly 67,000 on day 1 and more than 114,000 on Saturday August 29th. That marks the highest single day attendance in 7 years.

Your $8.32 general admission ticket to the state fair is also your ticket to any and all of the concerts scheduled for this year. Children under 12 and adults over 65 are admitted free. Daily parking at the fair is around $12.

The New York State Fair will be open today through Sunday September 6th from 9am - 11pm. On Monday September 7th the fairgrounds close at 9pm. The Wade Midway will open at 11am each day of the fair.

Although the concerts are free with your paid admission to the fair, there are a limited number of bleacher-style seats available on a first come, first served basis. These seats can be accessed as early as 9am.
