Red Lobster Is Closing 50 Locations Nationwide, Here Are the 10 New York Locations
Why have more than 3,000 brick-and-mortar retailers closed their doors already in 2024? CBS News reports that these national chain restaurants and stores have been forced to close locations, and in some cases shut down operations completely. One reason is that customers are watching every dollar out of fear of inflation.
Sadly another national brand has made the decision to close their doors. In this case, according to Business Insider, it appears that Red Lobster will close approximately 50 locations around the country, including nearly a dozen in New York State.
TAGex Brand, the world's largest restaurant after-marketplace, announced that select Red Lobster locations have closed. On Thursday May 16, 2024 TAGex will hold an auction of more than 50 Red Lobster locations across the country.
Although the Red Lobster site lists the 10 New York locations as "temporarily closed" one would have to assume, in light of the auctions, that these closures will become permanent. See the list of New York locations below.
The Red Lobster website indicates that, at this time, 10 New York locations are "temporarily closed". These locations include:
- Amherst - 4010 Maple Road
- Buffalo - 3701 McKinley Parkway
- Kingston - 1 Miron Lane
- Lakewood - 295 East Fairmount Avenue
- Poughkeepsie - 2255 South Road
- Rochester - 655 Jefferson Road
- Scarsdale - 999 Central Park Avenue
- Stony Brook - 2220 Nesconset Highway
- Watertown - 20831 State Route 3
- Williamsville - 7540 Transit Road
The TAGex site lists 3 New York locations ready for auctions. Each of these auctions are listed as "winner takes all" which means the winner of that specific bid win the entire contents of the location they bid on.
