We are enjoying the first few days of the 2024 fall season and we have had a little bit of sunshine, some rain, it's been chilly and it's been warm. You never really know what conditions you will have from day to day in New York State but one thing you can count on is the changing of the leaves.
According to Accuweather, Upstate New York will have some of the finest foliage in the Nation this year. How does Accuweather define "upstate"? They say the Adirondacks and Finger Lakes region should be spectacular. Take a look at the foliage map below to see current conditions.
The enormous size of New York State gives residents and out-of-state guests the opportunity to enjoy that changing of the leaves in stages. If you are in the Capital Region, for example, you aren't seeing much in terms of color so far. In the Adirondacks and the Catskills colors are nearing peak conditions.
