Albany Airport Wants To Get You Into The Cockpit
You've heard the tale of Icarus, right? The Greek tragedy of a boy creating wings and flying too close to the sun before plummeting to his death? Sure, it's a powerful message, but it also shows that humans have wanted to take flight for as long as we've been around.
Finally, with the invention of the airplane, we've achieved that dream, and a new organization in Albany wants as many people to take advantage of it as possible.

What is Vasi Aviation?
Albany has a new school, and it's not the kind of education you'll get in Geometry. Vasi Aviation is a flight school making its home in Albany International Airport, finally opening in 2026.
It's an FAA Part 61 flight training facility, helping local aviation fans or those interested fly on their own through a series of courses that will build knowledge and confidence in the cockpit, leading to a Private Pilot Certificate.
How Does the Program Work?
The program starts with a Discovery Flight, allowing you to get a feel for what it's like behind the controls of a plane, specifically a Cirrus SR20. The whole procedure from briefing to debrief is around two hours in total, and will cost you $550.
After that flight, you can begin your training, and make your way closer to becoming a private pilot. To begin your journey, and book your discovery flight, you'll have to visit the Vasi Aviation website or email Abigail@prescottholdings.com. remember, a journey of a thousand miles (in the air) starts with a single step onto the tarmac.
