13th Capital Region ALDI Grocery Store Opens This Week

If you’ve been waiting for the new ALDI in Latham to open, we have a date. The discount grocery store will officially open its doors this Thursday, October 8th. So get your shopping list ready and don’t forget your quarter for the cart.

The new store is at 829 Loudon Road, just past the Latham traffic circle, next to La Quinta Inn & Suites and Latham Fire Department 1.

Where Is The New ALDI?

If you’ve driven by that spot over the years, you probably remember the old Travelodge Inn. It was damaged in a fire back in 2016, and the property sat unused for years. What was once gravel and old pavement is finally getting a fresh start.

ALDI is giving shoppers a little extra incentive to check it out on opening day. The first 200 customers will receive a bag of ALDI goodies and a Golden Ticket worth up to $100. Saving money on groceries and possibly getting a bonus? Make sure you plan on being there.

Can We Get A First Look?

There’s also a sneak peek shopping event scheduled for Wednesday, October 7th, if you want to get inside before the official grand opening. The new store will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week.

It’s also right near Hannaford in Latham Farms and Price Chopper Market 32, so there will be plenty of grocery shopping options in that stretch of Route 9.

The project was first proposed in 2024. Now, the wait is almost over. This will be the thirteenth Aldi location in the Capital Region.
