We love it when any Country star makes a tour stop in the Capital Region. We love it even more when they step up to help out our local communities when they are in town.

That is exactly what Country superstar and music icon Shania Twain is going to do when she brings her Queen of Me Tour to the Broadview Stage at SPAC on Sunday, July 20th.

Shania Twain To Donate $25,000 To Fight Hunger In The Capital Region

Her music has inspired us for years, and now her generosity is doing the same in the greater Albany area.

According to a story from News 10, Shania Twain and the Shania Twain Foundation will donate $25,000 to the Regional Foodbank of Northeastern New York when she comes to Saratoga Springs next month. The donation will help provide 100,000 meals to those dealing with food insecurity.

The Regional Food Bank does so much great work here in the Capital Region, providing 350,000 meals every month and has distributed more than 54 million pounds of food since its inception!

According to the Shania Twain Foundation website, Shania Twain founded it to "...support efforts that eliminate food insecurity, empower youth, and foster well-being for all. These areas make up many of the challenges that she herself experienced growing up."

We already loved Shania, but her giving back to help the hungry in the Capital Region makes us love her even more! Just another reason to get out and support this Country legend when she comes to town in July!
