Get ready for temperatures to get a touch warmer in the next few days and for a little fresh snow in the Capital Region and Upstate New York.

Even though we have seen plenty of cold weather over the last couple of weeks, we still have not gotten a big monster snowfall. We are long overdue to have a monster snowfall here in the Capital Region, am I right?

While it is not the huge storm that some were hoping for, we will see some light snow throughout most of Upstate New York as we head into the weekend.

Upstate New York Weekend Forecast

According to WNYT New Channel 13, temperatures will rise a bit as we head into the weekend. On Friday, we will see some sun, less wind, and highs in the upper 20's close to 30.

Early Saturday a storm system will move in bringing with it some light snow, with the Capital Region and surrounding areas in Upstate New York expected to get a coating to 2 inches of snow.

According to the WNYT snowfall map below, some areas around Oneonta and Bennington, Vermont could see 2-4 inches of fresh snow.

Highs on Saturday are again expected to be in the upper 20s, and on Sunday we could see a high of 32 with plenty of sun! So while will not see the big snow we want, we will get a little relief in the days ahead from these frigid temperatures.
