Hardy Shocks Upstate NY Fans; It’s ‘Something I Always Wanted to Do’
Hardy Meets Fans in Line Hours Before Show
Country music fans who arrived at SPAC an hour before the gates opened on Friday were treated to something they'll never forget while Hardy did something that he admitted to GNA that he'd never done before but always wanted to do.
Gates opened at 5 pm on Friday for the Kip Moore and Hardy "Quit!! Tour" at SPAC, and while a handful of fans waited for their chance to claim the best spot on the lawn, the headliner, Hardy, unexpectedly came through the waiting crowd to meet fans, pose for pictures, and sign a few autographs.
Hanging Out with an Old Friend
It was an incredible moment experienced only by a few, but the kind of surprise you'll likely tell a hundred people about. Hardy couldn't have been more accommodating and friendly. He wasn't rushed and had no rules, but nobody bum-rushed or mobbed him. It was like hanging out with an old friend, even though he made about 100 new ones.
We caught up with Hardy backstage before the show and told him we were there to witness the moment that brought so much joy to his biggest fans.
"It's something I've always wanted to do...but I usually ride by in a golf cart", he told Brian and Chrissy from the GNA Morning Show while backstage.
When asked what made this moment different or unique, Hardy smiled, shrugged his shoulders, and said, "It felt right."
