Good news, burger lovers! We know that a Shake Shack is slated to move into the old TGI Fridays location in Stuyvesant Plaza. Now we know when.

Shake Shack is one of the top burger fast-food joints. Not only are their burgers delicious, but their crinkle-cut fries are unique to the restaurant.

Where are the other Shake Shacks?

We have been able to get Shake Shack in the Capital Region and during a road trip in New York State, but the location at the Saratoga Race Course is seasonal, and the New York State Thruway rest stops are not convenient. Now we will have a stand-alone Shake Shack in a large, accessible location.

Although the Shake Shack website still claims "Coming Soon", according to the Times Union, a manager for the brand told them they are looking to open the Stuyvesant Plaza location this summer, but nothing more specific.

TGI Friday's has been closed since January 2024, while Shake Shack announced in 2025 that it would be tripling its locations in New York State.

Bring on New Burger Joints

I know we keep getting more chicken and burger fast-food places in the Capital Region, but I don't know anyone who doesn't love a Shake Shack burger. I say bring it on. Hopefully, they will be opening in the early part of the summer so we can all enjoy.
