Perhaps you've bought Mrs. Fields Cookies at the grocery store or maybe you've traveled to the closest Mrs. Fields bakery, which is located in Holyoke Massachusetts.

Mrs. Fields has been opening bakeries in retail locations nationwide, in fact there are about 250 located throughout the US. But soon, Mrs. Fields will make its debut in the Capital Region.

The first - of we hope many bakeries, will be at Crossgates Mall. The shopping center made the announcement last Friday. It will be located on the lower level around the corner from Apex Entertainment. A grand opening date is expected to be announced soon.

In addition to its retail locations and supermarket presence, Mrs. Fields does a pretty hefty online business featuring cookies, cookie cakes, brownies and gift baskets.

The Crossgates store, which again hasn't announced its opening date, is already listed on the Mrs. Fields website as 'coming soon', but has its hours listed as Monday thru Friday 9am to 9pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am-6pm.

Crossgates has been amping up in 2022 with expanded hours and several new stores & eateries including Kong Dog, Dicks Sporting Goods Wholesale Store and Newbury Comics.

One of the Last Open Sears Stores in NY, Let's Take a Look

At its peak, there were 3,500 Sears stores. In the Capital Region, there were at least four including locations Aviation Mall in Queensbury, Colonie Center, Crossgates Mall and Wilton Mall. Today, less than 30 full size Sears retail stores remain.

One of the last remaining Sears is about an hour and a half ride down the Thruway from Albany. It's located in Newburgh, NY at the Newburgh Mall.

A quick tour shows us that not only is it open, it looks well cared for and has plenty of merch to sell. Clothes, appliances, tools, home goods, all pretty well stocked. And, like everyone else, they're hiring.
