New York State Trooper Body Cam Shows Rescue of Man that Fell Through Ice!

This is a warning to New Yorkers near and far to be aware and be careful! No matter where you are in this state, the weather and it's conditions can turn on you in a moments notice. One minute you are fishing. The next minute you are under the ice.

As you will see in the video just released by New York State Police, troopers and citizens teamed up to save a man who had fallen through the ice on Case Lake in Franklinville but it could have been your lake.

On Monday February 28th, According to the New York State Police Facebook Page, a call came in to dispatch regarding a man that had been ice fishing one moment and the next he had fallen through the ice and was about 75 feet from shore. Officers grabbed gear and went to work!

There was another ice fisherman on the scene and he assisted troopers by talking one end of the rope, walking out on the ice and tying the rope to the victim.

It took 3 men to pull the victim out of the frozen waters and get him safely to shore!

The victim was wrapped in blankets and treated at the scene. As you can see, troopers and civilians alike worked together to save this mans life.

No update on the condition of the victim but indications are that he is expected to fully recover. Thank you to Trooper Joseph Butler Jr., Trooper Troy Andrews, Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Deputy Trevor Norse and all involved in this rescue.
