Three Upstate and Western New York cities have been put on blast for their crime rates and quality of life.

But do they deserve the dishonor of being named among the 50 worst to live in the United States? We think not as these rankings come from the outside looking in, and it is easy to cast stones without living and breathing what a city is really all about.

And let's be honest: we know of WAY worse cities down near the New York City area, and heck, THROUGHOUT the Garden State - New Jersey! Am I right?

But nonetheless, 3 beloved New York cities that hundreds of thousands of Empire State residents call home BY CHOICE have made this list based on Roadsnacks criteria of having "...a lot of crime, crummy schools, not a lot of culture, and crappy jobs."
