‘Someone Knows Something!’ Reward Doubles for Info on Slain Schenectady Puppy
"Someone must know something to help the police solve this horrific case of animal cruelty."
In a press release by the New York State Humane Association, staff members pleaded for someone in the Capital Region to step forward with information that led to the death of a grey Pit Bull-mix puppy last month in February.
Who would do this?
According to police reports, the innocent puppy was found by a Good Samaritan on Cresse Avenue in Schenectady on February 7th. They've yet to find the person or persons responsible, but they're not losing hope - or determination.
The dog, emaciated from starvation, was brought to a vet but didn't survive.
Incensed and appalled over this horrific act of animal cruelty, The New York State Humane Society upped the ante on the reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this heinous crime.
The reward jumps to $2000 for information on the person who killed the puppy.
Back when the story was originally reported, there was a $1000 reward for information, but that has since doubled and it's now up to $2K.
This is what the Schenectady Police posted to their Facebook page:
"We are again asking for the public’s assistance. In order to help generate information that will lead to an arrest and conviction, the New York State Humane Association has generously increased its reward offer to $2,000. Anyone with information is asked to please call us at, 518-382-5200 ext. 5655." Schenectady Police Facebook page.
