The 2022 New York State Cannabis Convention and Expo is happening soon in downtown Albany, and if you're interested in finding a career in cannabis, here's what you need to know.

Weed is now legal in New York State, and we know it's only a matter of time within the next year or so before legalized recreational cannabis dispensaries will be popping up throughout New York, and many people want in on the weed rush.

With so many Billions of dollars at stake in the future sales of legalized weed and weed products in New York, this harkens back to 2014 and 2015, when cities and towns in Upstate New York were vying to get the area's first casino.

The event will take place on Sunday, October 30th from 11 am to 5 pm at the Albany Capital Center and is free for anyone in attendance as long as you pre-register.

The expo will feature vendors, exhibits, and speakers who will be on hand to discuss all facets of the industry for those interested in career growth, and selling, as well as the enormous economic impact it will have on New York.

According to sources, the NY weed boom is here, and "the total cannabis market size in New York supported by residents, tourists, and commuters is estimated to be $4.6 billion or 747,000 pounds of flower."

Capital Region Cities, Towns, & Villages Opted-Out Of Marijuana Sales

As New York prepares to roll out marijuana dispensaries, the following 22 Capital Region municipalities have opted out of marijuana sales and businesses for the time being according to the Rockefeller Institute of Government. Cities and towns can decide to opt-in down the road if they choose.
