There are some people who are trying to take the easy route. They don’t want to be vaccinated so they are using fake COVID-19 vaccination cards, and the government is cracking down.

According to Axios, yesterday 15 people were arrested and charged by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office for their involvement with the counterfeit COVID-19 vaccine cards.

There are some people who must be vaccinated to go to school or work, but they are completely against being vaccinated. As a result, at least 15 people in New York participated in a fraudulent COVID19 vaccine card scheme that landed them behind bars.

According to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, 15 people were arrested in the fraudulent vaccine card scheme.

One individual, 31-year old Jasmine Clifford allegedly sold at least 250 of the fake vaccine cards on social media. Ms. Clifford is accused of selling the mock cards on Instagram for $200. She was charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument, Offering a False Instrument for Filing, and fifth-degree Conspiracy.

Ms. Clifford was not alone in the game. She worked along with 27-year old Nadayza Barkley. Apparently, Ms. Barkley works in the health field and has access to the NYSII database, which records information for vaccinated individuals into the state’s database. She is accused of fraudulently recording data for a $250 fee. Ms. Barkley is charged with Offering a False Instrument for Filing and fifth-degree Conspiracy.

In addition to these two individuals, there were 13 other people who were arrested in this case. They are accused of purchasing the forged cards. Most of the recipients of the fraudulent cards work in the healthcare field including hospitals and nursing homes.
